FOR ALL AGES

Why would my child need to see a chiropractor?
The answer to that question is the trauma in a child’s daily life. The spine consists of 26 vertebral segments which can be jammed or misaligned causing minor spinal problems called spinal subluxations.

It can begin at birth and in the months thereafter which can sometimes upset the normal functioning of the spine. Spinal segments can be pushed out of place or jammed during labor and the birthing process itself.

Spinal problems can also occur as a result of the frequent falls suffered by young children in the first years of life. A fall from a bed, the act of learning to walk ,a sudden stop in an automobile, or any significant unsupported movement of the head and neck in an infant can induce excessive movement in the spine causing vertebral subluxations. These seemingly innocent events can create spinal subluxations.

Some common childhood ailments may indicate a spinal problem. Chronic earaches, sore throats, colic, headaches, bed-wetting, and growing pains are but some of the more common problems for which parents bring their children to the chiropractor.

Few medical doctors, orthopedic specialists or pediatricians, are trained to recognize the subtle spinal problems which can cause the conditions listed above has been present.

We treat many children at this office because parents now know that early detection of anything is key. Just like getting your teeth cleaned or going to early dental appointments to promote good dental health throughout their lifetime

Chiropractic treatment is important during growth spurts that a child goes through because if we can keep their body functioning well and growing well. Many back problems can be avoided later in life. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Why would I need to see a chiropractor before, during and after pregnancy?

A chiropractor can properly assess your body and diagnose any existing imbalances in your pelvis or elsewhere that may increase your discomfort during pregnancy. They will be able to detect factors in your skeletal structure that may lead to problems after childbirth.

Chiropractic techniques are very different for pregnant women, and are specially trained to insure you the safest and best possible care throughout your pregnancy.
Chiropractic care may also help your body adjust to:

  • Rapid increase/decrease in weight
  • Changes in posture
  • Changes in sleep patterns & positions
  • Changes in appetite and eating habits
  • Loosening of body ligaments to allow for growth/labor
  • Flat feet/pronation due to weight gain/loose ligaments
  • Emotional changes (hormonal shifts/new family stress)
  • Studies have shown that women who have consistent chiropractic care throughout their pregnancies have shorter and less painful labors with fewer complications and fewer interventions.

Why Chiropractic for Sport Injuries?

The medical doctor can assess for torn/sprained joints, muscles or ligaments, and the physiotherapist will seek to treat these injuries with physiotherapy equipment, exercises and stretches. Chiropractic can also assess these injuries and treat them with the same equipment and exercises, but what a chiropractor adds to the treatment is the detection and correction of spinal or joint misalignments that will prevent healing or interfere with the healing process. Misalignments can continually cause stress and strain to the same soft tissues, contributing to many chronic injuries that never seem to heal. This is true for a low back, shoulder, knee, ankle, wrist or any other joint in the body.

How can Chiropractic Care help me recover from adverse effects of everyday life?

Any substantial blow to your body, whether from a car accident, contact sports, or an accident at work, can cause whiplash or other neck injuries and warrants a thorough chiropractic check-up. Too often people don’t seek treatment until more serious complications develop.

Even a minor automobile accident can have major effects on your health. When one automobile is struck by another, thousands of pounds of force are exerted on the neck and spine. Whiplash occurs when the head and neck are thrown or “snapped” back and forth very quickly. The painful result is injury to the ligaments, soft tissue, and discs of the neck and spine

Neck Injuries can cause impingement, stretching, or irritation of the nerves and the spinal cord. Whiplash can cause headaches, numbness, pins and needles in the face, chest, arms or hands, anxiety, neck pain, back pain, ear ringing, dizziness, hearing loss and/or blurred vision.

Many people who have been in a traumatic automobile accident do not receive Chiropractic Care. That is the reason why over half of the accident victims never completely recover from their injuries and may live on pain killers for years or endure repeated surgery. Chiropractic care can make the difference between true recovery and healing or lingering pain and disability.

Mature Adults can benefit greatly from Chiropractic Care!

Chiropractic is a safe and healthy way to maintain your mobility and help take away some of the pain of arthritis, muscle aches, back pain, and joint pain.

By restoring better alignment to the spine and its joints, there can be a significant reduction in joint stiffness and immobility, pain, and swelling. Even spines that have severe deformity and significant arthritic change can benefit from chiropractic care, especially when combined with therapy. Every patient’s health concern is unique, therefore the treatment must also be unique.

  • Minimized risk of fall injuries
  • Spinal and extremity pain relief
  • Decreased stiffness and muscular spasms
  • Increased mobility and range of motion
  • Increased balance and coordination
  • Increased sense of well being
  • Increased energy
  • Enhanced tissue healing
  • Decreased tissue inflammation
  • Increased joint health
  • Decreased arthritis and arthritic joint pain
  • Minimized spinal stress and subsequent degeneration
